According to The Daily Mail, Wimbledon have deemed Roger Federer's shoes too colourful for the all-white tournament.
Wimbledon's rules dictate that a player must wear gear that is almost entirely white. Most players add small details of colour to their outfits. Federer in the past has been a fan of the white and gold look.
This year, Federer's outfit is adorned with small amounts of orange, but Wimbledon have ruled that his shoes with orange soles are not quite white enough. It all seems a little silly, considering the women often wear colourful undershorts and the rules seem pretty subjective.
Although I think Wimbledon are being a little finicky, I'm not a fan of the shoes anyway. I'm looking forward to seeing the new ones when he takes on Sergiy Stakhovsky in his second round match today.
