It's widely known that tennis players Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova don't particularly like each other. Exhibit A. And today we got Exibit B, when things got a little physical during the final between the two ladies at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Check out what happened during the first changeover in-between the 1st and 2nd set (video above).
For all non-tennis fans, this is one of the bitchiest things you can do to another player during a match except for outright hitting them with a tennis ball. To me it looks like Vika was the instigator, and you can see Maria shaking her head afterwards probably thinking, "What the hell?"
After the match, I eagerly waited for their post-match handshake to see if Maria would outright refuse to shake Vika's hand. She did (shake her hand), but tennis commentator Leif Shiras summarized it brilliantly,
The post match handshake wasn't exactly bathed in the milk of human kindness either.
For the record, Maria won the match.
Gotta love the drama!
