US Open Day 3 and 4: A Lot of Tennis with a Touch of Douchebaggery
Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 9:02PM
Didn't post anything yesterday, and tonight's post will be a quickie.
Day 3 was a pretty great day. Didn't get started until around 2pm due to lack of sleep, but when I arrived on the grounds I was grateful for the slight breeze and temperatures a few degrees cooler than the day before. I stalked the practice courts for about an hour and got to see Tommy Robredo, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Martina Navratilova and Kim Clijsters. The only one that got the shirtless memo was Robredo (Navratilova and Clijsters excluded of course.)

Roger was practicing his in-between-the-legs-shot
Also checked out a few singles and doubles matches including Elena Dementieva, Mardy Fish, Vera Zvonerava, Samantha Stosur, Kim Clijsters and Andy Roddick.

Yes, I was there for Roddick's douchebaggery with the lineswoman. He was so terribly rude it was embarrassing, and most people in my section began cheering for Tipsy soon after his rant. My sister stated:
Apparently Andy Roddick is playing the part of Serena Williams this year.
I'm not sure if he apologized to the lineswoman for berating her so badly for calling an appropriate foot fault. I honestly haven't had a chance to look it up, but for his sake I hope so. After yelling at the chair umpire in Cincinnati, and now arguing with the umpire here, I think he will be leaking fans shortly.
Day 4 started off in a dramatic fashion. After riding the train for about 45 minutes, getting to the grounds around 8:45 am and then getting settled in my shaded seat (very important) at Louis Armstrong Stadium at 10:00 am, I realized that I wasn't sure if I left my iron on at my sister's house. I was so terrified that we would come back to a burned down apartment, that I rushed back into the city, only to find the iron neatly stored away and clearly OFF. Frustrated and sweaty, I got back to the stadium around 12:30pm and still had my seat, which is no small feat of my sister, being that she had to fend away other spectators for about 2 hours. After that, the day went fairly smoothly, and I saw Kuznetsova win easily in 2 sets, Jankovic do it in 3 (expected), and then caught glimpses of Melzer, Oudin, and Monfils.

Ok, so that wasn't as quick as I thought. My last day here is tomorrow, or perhaps it was today if we get rained out. See you then.
