Tweets of the Week: Andy Roddick Retires at the US Open

From a man who owns Superbowl ring to one that earned a green jacket from Augusta National - celebrities, Olympians, and fellow tennis players flooded Twitter to wish Andy Roddick well after he retired from tennis today at the US Open.  Here are some of their tweets:

During his tennis career Andy Roddick kept taking the criticism and kept coming back with better shots and more titles. He didn't quit when the criticism started surfacing in 2004 and kept coming in droves. He remained a top ten tennis player for 9 consecutive years and only dropped out of that category in the recent 18 months mostly due to injuries. He has made much more money with talents people said he lacked and has obtained more fame all around the world than those who criticized him could ever dream of. Not everyone can be a Rod Lever or a Roger Federer, but what Roddick is to me is a guy who admitted that he is an average guy who has worked extremely hard to achieve his dreams. THAT IS WHY RODDICK IS MY GUY because he reminds me that I ,TOO, CAN DREAM AND I, TOO, CAN ACHIEVE MY DREAM BY HARD WORK. Well done, Sir Roddick. There is no doubt in my mind that you will achieve much more in life after you retire from tennis. So much love and respect always.
