Ok, first off, my title isn't that great. I know it, I couldn't think of anything else, I'm moving on...
Third Time: Novak Djokovic won the Dubai Duty Free Championships in straight sets over Roger Federer, 6-3, 6-3. He has now won this title for the 3rd time in a row, joining Roger as the only other man to complete the hat trick. He is 12 - 0 in 2011, and I really think he has a great shot at winning at least another Major this year if he continues this form.
Second Time: David Ferrer won the Mexican Open for the 2nd year in a row defeating compatriot Nicolas Almagro in 7-6 (5), 6-7 (2), 6-2. This is Ferrer's 2nd ATP title this year.
Not in a long time: Vera Zvonareva hadn't won a title in over a year until this weekend when she defeated number 1 Caroline Wozniacki 6-4, 6-4 at the Qatar Ladie's Open. This is her 11th WTA title.
And last but not least...
I can comfortably say that Juan Martin del Potro is officially back. Today he won his first ATP title since 2009, taking out Janko Tipsaravic at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships 6-4, 6-4. I'll be honest, I was rooting for Tipsy to win this because it would have been his first ATP title and also because my title would have been better: First Time, Second Time, Third Time, and Not in a Long Time. Oh well. It's good to see Delpo back. Although he doesn't seem so happy in this picture.

I completely forgot Gisela Dulko! (Sorry girl). She won her 4th WTA title at the Mexican Open. Doesn't she look cute in her sombrero!!
Here are the player party videos for the Dubai Duty Free Championships. The women's video is definitely better because there are some interviews, as well as Petko on a camel and Aga getting a tattoo. The one good thing about the men's video? Nole dancing.
Caroline Wozniacki didn't really say that, but after this week, that is where she sits, World Number 1. She regained her number 1 ranking after reaching the semi-finals in Dubai, and today she decisively beat Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-1, 6-3, to win her first title of the year and her 13th career title. So the question is always asked, "is a slam in her future?" I believe that if she continues to play like this.....yes.
Here is the video that Caro sent to her fans after regaining the number 1 ranking:
Funny side note: When Caro regained the number 1 ranking and tweeted it, Kim Clijsters (who had just received the number 1 ranking the week before) tweeted back:
While serving for the 2nd set in Dubai against against Caroline Wozniacki, Anna Chakvetadze collapsed on the court. She received a prolonged medical time out, resumed play, but then retired after one more point.
What an interesting week in tennis! The Youth Movement in tennis has been on full display this week with several youngsters going deep into tournaments and 1 (possibly 2 by tonight) hoisting trophies. But first let's start with Kim Clijsters who reached number 1 in the world with her SF win over Jelena Djokic in Paris. Finally we have a number 1 who has won multiple Majors, most recently the Australian Open that everyone can rally behind.
The problem with all of this? If Caroline Wozniacki wins in Dubai next week, the WTA will have to do the ceremony all over again, because she will regain the #1. Here is a message that Kimmie left to her fans after winning.
And now here are your trophy hoisters for the weekend:
Petra Kvitova who is only 20 years old and still rocking braces won her 3rd WTA tournament (her 2nd this year), shocking Kim Clijisters 6-4, 6-3 in the Open GDF Suez Final. She has wicked power off the forehand and backhand and she is only going to improve. Watch out ladies...
Daniella Hantuchova won her first tournament since 2007 at the Pattaya Open defeating Sara Errani 6-0, 6-2.
Nicolas Almagro took out Alexandr Dolgopolov to win his 2nd Brasil Open and his 8th ATP title. I was really hoping Dolgo would get his first ATP trophy here, but I think this year is going to hold great things for him. He is top 10 talent for sure.
And last but not least, Robin Soderling defended his Rotterdam title defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Tonight's final at the SAP Open features Fernando Verdasco vs. Milos Raonic. There is no doubt that Milos, also only 20 years old, will be a top ten player. He cracks serves at 147 mph and has touch to boot. Fernando was looking mighty dominant last night, defeating Juan Martin del Potro in straights, but I have a feeling that it will go 3, with Verdasco pulling it out in the end.
And there you have it. Next week's tournaments for the WTA are Dhubai and Bogata, and for the ATP are Memphis, Marseille and Buenos Aires .
