Quick Q & A With Caroline Wozniacki

While at the Sony Ericsson Open, I had the chance to have a comfy chat, (comfy because instead of the regular folding chairs we did our interview a nice leather couch - upgrade!) with Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.  She truly embodies her nickname "Sunshine" because her smile lights up a room and is infectious!  Enjoy!

What is your passion outside of tennis?

I love baking!

What is your favorite thing to bake?

Everything!  All cakes - chocolate cakes, cookies, bread.  All different kinds of things.

Fun Interview with Janko Tipsarevic

If you could switch places with anyone and live their life for one day, who would it be and why?

I would like to change place with either Mr. Obama or Mr. Putin, one of the two leaders of the world.   I feel like those two nations are kind of leading the world and I would like to see how do they deal with the pressure and sorts of stuff that is thrown to their faces everyday in their work.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Honest, Sarcastic, and (then he asks his agent what the 3rd thing would be and she says...) Big Sense of Humor.

Usually when you see a picture such as the one above, with Roger Federer and Andy Roddick walking off the court, your instinct might be to assume that Roger extended his ridiculous winning streak to 22-2 over Andy without much of an afterthought.   But, in a surprising (and exciting) twist in the 3rd round of the Sony Ericsson Open, Roddick did what he was unable to do for most of his career, and defeated the man considered the greatest of all time, for only the 3rd time in their 24 meetings.  It was an emotional moment for Andy who has been battling a string of injuries which have caused his ranking to drop to 34, the lowest it's been in the past 10 years.  But, what made this moment even more amazing is how both men were extremely complimentary of each other in their respective press conferences.

What do you like do outside of tennis for fun?

I’m big on good food and movies.

What is your favorite food?

Steak, a good steak.  I tend to find a good steak place in every city.

What are your favorite movies?

I like to watch the ones I can watch over many times, like the Hangover movies and Due Date, that I can laugh over many times.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

No discipline.  I can’t be close to people that can’t be professional in a sense, and it’s about surrounding yourself with the right people.

What are you most afraid of?

Open water.  Being stranded.  On a boat I’d be fine, but being stranded in open water.

I caught Andy Murray with his coach Ivan Lendl out on the practice courts at the Sony Ericsson Open.  Andy was practicing with Kei Nishikori and although they didn't interact much, there was a lot of laughter between Lendl, Murray, Daren Cahill and Neil Harman.  Everyone was having a great time, and it's always nice to see Andy smiling.  Enjoy!
