Maria Sharapova Slams Serena Williams' "Personal" Choices

Since there isn't much of a rivalry between the #1 and #2 womens' tennis players in the world on the court, (Maria Sharapova hasn't beaten Serena Williams in 9 years), at least we can be entertained by their war-of-words off the court.

In a recent Rolling Stones article, Serena referred to a top five player, widely thought to be Sharapova, who she called "boring" and stated that she would never, "be invited to the cool parties" and that this player was dating a guy with a "black heart" (Grigor Dimitrov, Serena's rumored ex?).  So in her pre-Wimbledon conference, Maria took the opportunity to slam Serena's personal choices saying,

If she wants to talk about something personal, maybe she should talk about her relationship and her boyfriend that was married and is getting a divorce and has kids. Talk about other things, but not draw attention to other things.

Maria is obviously referring to Serena's coach/un-confirmed boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou

I find it very interesting *cough hypocritical* that Maria, who thinks players shouldn't give their personal opions on matters outside of tennis in press conferences, just made some VERY personal comments about another player's love life.  At the very least, this will make their battles on court a lot more interesting. Gotta love the drama!

Serena Williams and Aga Radwanska Turn Up The Glam

Could there be a better body image role model than Serena Williams? Essence Magazine doesn't think so, hence they chose Serena to cover their 'Love Your Body' issue. Essence is a monthly magazine for African American women, although I'm sure women of any size, shape and colour can draw inspiration from this stunning cover shot.

Meanwhile, Polish magazine Gala has featured Aga Radwanska in their glossy pages. They've shot Aga in full make-up and glamourous clothes us mere mortals will never get the chance to wear. Needless to say, she looks absolutely beautiful.

Roland Garros '13 Fashion: Hits and Misses

It feels like forever since I've sat down to analyse the most important factor in Grand Slam tennis: the fashion. But it is time for me to cast my eyes over what the stars are wearing at what is usually the least fashionable Grand Slam. Perhaps it's the awkward coloured clay, or maybe nobody feels they can look as good as the French so they don't bother trying. Who knows.

Originally Rachel was going to do her own reviews as well, but then life got in the way. Hopefully she will be able to join me for Wimbledon, but until then you're stuck with me. I'm going to start with the girls and then move onto the boys. First up is Serena Williams.

Clive Brunskill/Getty Images Europe When I first saw Serena's outfit I thought that it was nice, but hadn't I seen it before? Turns out, the grey/orange colour combo is pretty popular with Serena and Nike. She wore similar colour combinations at the French Open 2010 and at Rome this year. So forgive me if I'm not overawed by it this time around. I do, however, like the structure of the dress. The top half manages to be both modest and flattering before giving way to an empire line. I possibly would like to see just a little more length on this dress, but it's merely a matter of inches. Otherwise, a solid if predictable job from Nike and Serena.

Video: Nadal, Federer, Williams, and Sharapova Play in the Dark

Now get your minds out of the gutter!!! Actually, I WISH that it was something raunchy as good as these 4 look....but this video from Nike titled, "Kings of the Lights in Paris" will do in a pinch.  Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova played a little tennis under a black light in Paris.  Pretty cool idea.  I wonder if Serena was able to get a Rafa butt squeeze in when the lights went out! LOL.  Enjoy!

Williams Says Capriati Happy She Lost

It just keeps getting worse for Jennifer Capriati.

Since 1994 Capriati has made headlines not only for her stunning tennis achievements, but for legal problems, drug issues and now a domestic incident.

On Friday the Olympic gold medalist was charged with stalking and battery, although she has not been arrested. Police claim she punched her ex-boyfriend on Valentines Day.

Now Serena Williams has said that Capriati was happy when Serena lost in Australia! According to the New York Times's Ben Rothenberg, Serena was asked after her third round victory in Miami whether she had heard from Capriati.
