If you want to know what it's like behind-the-scenes of the WTA, it ain't all fun and games folks.
Entries in Ryan Harrison (14)
On the eve of the Australian Open, IMG hosted their annual bash for players and local celebrities alike. While strict schedules meant most players were unable to stop for a chat, all of them dressed up to the nines for the event and posed for photos on the red carpet. French restaurant, Breezes, was transformed into a Chinese-themed party with drinks flowing and a gourmet barbeque on offer.
Ryan Harrison was the first to arrive and although I would have preferred it if he had tucked in his shirt, he still looked pretty damn handsome.
If you could switch places with anyone and live their life for one day, who would it be and why?
It would be Drew Brees on a Sunday, probably in a conference game, or a playoff game.
What is your favorite piece of clothing?
Pajama bottoms. Hands down, they're my clothing of choice. I would be caught in my hotel room in my pajama bottoms 365 days a year. They are my comfortable clothing of choice.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Not very good [laughter]. I’m the type of guy who will walk in and buy clothes - I don’t remember the last time I went shopping, it’s been a while, but I go into random moods where I’ll go and buy a bunch of stuff and then I’ll wear that out for the next 3 months, and then I’ll go [shopping] again.
Before hitting the tennis courts at the Sony Ericsson Open, American Ryan Harrison, along with 10 other ATP and WTA players took in a swim with the dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium's Dolphin Harbor.
"It was a really special experience for me to be able to swim with the dolphins and it's something I'll always remember," said Harrison, the 19-year-old who cracked the Top 100 last July.
On my last day on the grounds of the BNP Paribas Open, I spotted doubles partners and besties Ryan Harrison and Matt Ebden out on the practice courts. I really hadn't gotten a lot of pictures of Ryan during the tournament so I stopped, pulled out my camera, and started snapping away. Initially, Ryan had his game face on, but once he realized that he was getting his picture taken he grabbed Matt and started posing for the camera.
After his 2nd round straight sets win against Viktor Troicki at the 2012 BNP Paribas Open, Ryan Harrison was asked about the improvement in his physical fitness and here is a funny little story that he told:
I actually hate broccoli, and I was sitting there with my coach at dinner two, three nights ago, the night before I played Cipolla, and he started laughing. He said, "If you eat that broccoli you're going to win."
