Unfortunately I was barely able to watch this match. I initially thought that ESPN2 was showing it live, but as soon as I logged onto my twitter account about an hour before it was supposed to start on TV, there were already several tweets about the progress of the match. No problem, I thought, and I found my favorite livestreaming site atdhe.net, and then..............the rain delays began, 4 of them to be exact, and it didn't help that I had to be at work in an hour. By the time I did get to work, the match was over, and I was officially sad. Not a good way to start the night.

We'll keep tonights blog short and sweet, not because todays matches weren't exciting, but rather due to a prior commitment my head has with my pillow at 10pm. Murray played lights-out tennis against Rafa, winning 6-3, 6-4; and the "Roller Coaster" AKA Novak Djokovic gave us just that, losing the first set in an embarrassing fashion 1-6, then taking the second 6-3, and finally falling in the 3rd to "Clutch-Fed" 5-7. It won't be a Nadal/Federer final like I hoped, but Murray/Federer is still interesting given their history. I take Murray in 3. Pics from the matches after the jump.
My neighbors officially think I am crazy. With all the hootin' and hollerin' I was doing in my small little condo, you would think that I was having the party of my life, and I was, but it was just a party of four: Me, my Ethiopian take-out, Roger Federer and Thomas Berdych, and if you missed their quarterfinal match last night, you missed a doozy.
The Comeback King Nalbandian was defeated by Andy Murray in straight sets today at the Rogers Cup, 6-2, 6-2. Since coming off his win in DC, the Nalby train seemed almost unstoppable, but the defending champ was in his best form and steamrolled through the match. Nalby is still considered a contender for the US Open, which, if he is not seeded, is going to be scary for the player that his name pops up next to.
Subtle vs. IN YOUR FACE? Mild vs. Hot? Cotton candy vs. Rock candy? Pepto vs. Cosmo? (yes, yes, I know Cosmos aren't really hot pink, but it sounded good, right?) These are the reasons, my friends, that Rafa wins my favor everytime. The difference in their pink is just a reminder of how different these two men are.
Roger Federer defeated Juan Ignacio Chela 7-6, 6-3 in the 2nd round of the Rogers Cup. Roger looked just a bit rusty, but, rusty for Fed is still better than most player's best. The real story was Roger's outfit, a pink shirt with brown shorts. It was......interesting. I don't think he can pull of pink as well as Rafa, (I might be biased on that topic), and the shorts kept making me think of the song "Doo Doo Brown" (I think I just dated myself). Click here for the the song. Roger is so classy, that he almost pulls it off. Almost. Rafa's up tomorrow, let's hope he does better than the much anticipated, but ultimate flop.....Rafole.
I realize now, after watching Roger on the TV instead of live-streaming on the computer, that his shorts are in fact olive green and not brown. I still don't love the outfit, but, I can no longer continue to call his short color Doo Doo Brown *sigh*
Very cute video of #1 and #2 playing soccer tennis for fans. Novak clearly isn't as skilled as Rafa, but, he holds his own. Be prepared to be a little dizzy by the home footage.
