Novak Djokovic gets waxed

No, Novak Djokovic isn't going to be and waxing his legs (I'm looking at you Feli) or his stomach (I'm looking at you Rafa) any time soon, but Nole did get waxed, in a life-size wax effigy displayed in the wax museum of Jagodina to celebrate his achievements on the tennis court.  The sculpture was created by Belgrade sculptor Svetomir Radovic and it is dressed in clothes that Nole has actually worn, and is holding a racket that he has used on the tennis court.

Australian Open 2012 Men's Final: The Joy of Suffering

With great suffering comes great joy; although throughout the 5 hour and 53 minute long match of the Australian Open Men's final, fans could argue that great suffering only caused sweaty palms and stomach pains. 

Novak Djokovic fans suffered when he had and then squandered 3 break points, which if converted, would have allowed him to serve for the match in the 4th set.  Rafael Nadal fans suffered when he missed an easy backhand at the net which eventually lead to a break of serve and was later considered the point that cost him the match (although not by Rafa himself).  But more importantly, the players of this epic match suffered, with only passion to will themselves to the finish line to kiss (or bite) the Norman Brookes trophy before their burning lungs and legs could betray them.

Yeah.  Bugs fell on my back twice.  I hate bugs more than you can imagine.  I hate bugs.  Like, they kept jumping on me.  I just, Yuck!  So I'm going to request not to play at night anymore because I hate bugs, except for the final.  I heard it's at night, though.  I'll try to get used to them.

Fashion Forward: Novak Djokovic's Australian Open Kit

I'm have to admit that I've never been a fan of how Sergio Tacchini has dressed Novak Djokovic on the tennis court, and if this rumored kit is his outfit for the 2012 Australian Open, that trend will continue.  Same colors, same style, same kind of blah.  But, perhaps it will look better when he wears it on the court because there is nothing blah about Nole.  What do you think?

Weekend Wrap Up

This will be short but sweet....

Novak Djokovic started that "winning" thing again.

Victoria Azarenka defeated Caroline Wozniacki 6-2, 7-5 at an exhibition match in Thailand.  Before their match they did a little dance.
