Today was my first day going to a Juan Monaco match as just a fan, and I "Vamos'd!" so much that I was repeatedly asked if I was from Argentina. (I'm not but I'll take it). So, for all the Pico fans out there, here are some pictures from his first round (straight sets) win against Andreas Seppi at the US Open. Enjoy!

Pico, Juan, Piquito, Picaño - whatever you want to call him - is by far the most down-to-earth, fun, giggly, genuinely nice player that I have been able to sit down and interview.
He makes us all laugh on Twitter with his Spanglish chats with Andy Murray and "Johnny" Isner, and with his spur-of-the moment twit-cam Q & A's, so I was very excited to talk with him one-on-one.
He was a little bit concerned that his English wasn't good enough for this interview, but it wasn't a problem at all. It's a little hard to get it to translate on paper, but I honestly laughed so hard during this interview, that I almost cried. I hope you enjoy reading this half as much as I enjoyed talking to him!

David Nalbandian and a shirtless Juan Monaco (Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole!) hit the practice courts today in Cincy. Pico had also practiced earlier in the day with Rafael Nadal.

Juan Monaco and Rafael Nadal are besties on and off the court, and today at the Western and Southern Open they had a little practice session on Court 14. Let me just say, that if it wasn't already hot in Cincy, with these two on the court temperatures are bound to climb! Enjoy!

Initially the camera wasn't working, therefore when it did start working, Pico had NO idea he could be seen online. He even took a phone call without knowing that we were watching. The phone call was from the hosts of the Argentinian radio program PERROS DE LA CALLE.
