Maria Sharapova loves the heat? Maria Sharapova fans were tense last night as she was almost upset in 2nd round of the Australian Open. She was throwing (and screaming) everything she could at her opponent Karin Knapp while playing in the "extreme heat," but couldn't seem to close out the match. However, after 3 hours and 28 minutes of play, the longest WTA match thus far at the Open, she finally got the W.
After the match she signed the camera, "Love the heat baby!" But, I think she was telling a little fib because this EPIC Gif shows how she really felt about the heat during play.
Maria Sharapova topped the Sports list of Forbes' annual '30 Under 30' which was released yesterday. So what are the reasons she tops the list?
1. She is still the world's highest paid female athlete, netting a whopping 29 million in 2013.
2. She launched her first independent business, Sugarpova.
3. She is covering the Sochi Winter Olympics for NBC.
I'm still not totally sold on the correspondent part, as she can get a little goofy in interviews, but I'm hoping she'll figure it out.
Happy New Year everyone! Rory and I started 2014 with a bang! ... I said YES!!!! pic.twitter.com/J7c2pXgsdC— Caroline Wozniacki (@CaroWozniacki) December 31, 2013
Happy New Year everyone! And a happy new year especially to Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy, who became engaged during last night's NYE celebrations in Sydney. Rumors of a split have surrounded this couple for a while, but they have always insisted they are going strong and this is one sure fire way to shut up those doubters.
Both Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy tweeted the news on Twitter, McIlroy saying, "Happy New Year everyone! I have a feeling it's going to be a great year!! My first victory of 2014 #shesaidyes!!"
McIlroy certainly did well with the ring. I can't wait to see what Wozniacki's dress will look like, (Maybe Stella McCartney will design it?!).
Australian webiste Business Insider has named their top 50 sexiest atheletes, and interestingly enough the list pits men and women against each other. Business Insider said their list was based on looks (duh), dance moves, fashion choices and senses of humour. The also said they picked people that remain relevant to their sport, (and the digs are too easy so I won't go there).

Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki have been hounded by the press since they became an item, (while Rory was reportedly still in a relationship with his ex) and now they are being hounded again because of a reported break-up due to this tweet:
The US Open is generally considered the Grand Slam where players can truly let loose when it comes to fashion. The glittering New York skyline has inspired many patterns and sparkles, while New Yorkers have a reputation for being open-minded and creative. It's probably my favourite fashion slam, and despite style queen Maria Sharapova giving it a miss this year, there's still plenty of exciting outfits to lust and laugh over.
