I'm excited to say that after some much needed R&R, I am officially back in my office straining my neck and eyes to deliver you some quality tennis blogging! This one will be short and sweet.  Although I haven't been able to watch, I wanted to give you some of the results of some of the warm-up tournaments prior to the Australian Open:

ATP

Doha:  Roger Federer def. Nicholay Davydenko 6-3, 6-4. 

Aircel Chennai Open:  Stanislas Wawrinka def. Tomas Berdych 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the finals and play Xavier Malisse.

Brisbane International:  Andy Roddick def. Kevin Anderson to advance to the finals and play Robin Soderling.

Next ATP events are the Heinekin Open and the Medibank International starting 1/10

WTA

Brisbane International:  Petra Kvitova def. Andrea Petkovic 6-1, 6-3

ASB Classic:  Greta Arn def. Yanina Wickmayer 6-3, 6-3

Next WTA events are the Medibank International and the Moorilla Hobart International both from 1/9-1/14

The Australian Open starts 1/17.  I'm excited, are you?

Rafa's Back, And So Am I

The end of the 2009 season was undoubtedly a long one.  There were too many injuries, too much complaining about the length of the season, and most importantly there was too little of Rafael Nadal doing what he usually does.......win.  But, it's a new year, and it seems that 2010 has the recipe for some exciting tennis.

Injury Report: Rafael Nadal and Melanie Oudin

2009 has been full of ups and downs for Rafael Nadal.   The year started with winning the Australian Open, and with many people predicting that he would have a Grand Slam year.  Everything quickly changed after losing in the 4th round of the French Open and then withdrawing from Wimbledon due to patellar tendonitis.
