Who wore it better: Andy Murray vs. Juan Monaco

Video: Andy Murray's trainer loses a bet to Ivan Lendl

Andy Murray's personal trainer made a bet during the US Open with Murray's coach Ivan Lendl about who could perform better on the Versatile Machine, (I think that is what he said) which they use in their workouts.  Check out the video to see who lost the bet and who is the "far superior physical specimen."  Mental note......never make a bet with Ivan that you aren't 100% sure you will win or you will be embarrassed in front of the whole world.  Ouch!

Reading Room: Swearing, Donkeys, and Potential Beat Downs

Here is a quickie to keep you updated on some of the stories floating around the web.....

I guess when you are SUPER wealthy you can spend your money on anything.  This involves a donkey, cheese, and Novak Djokovic.....and no, this isn't a bad joke.

Caroline Wozniacki better watch her back.....  Impersonating Serena Williams by adding some "junk to her trunk" the first time was kinda funny, the second time was just kinda rude.  I know Caro is "Miss Sunshine" and all, but I think that there is a very real possibility that if it happens again there will be a "girl fight!"  Don't mess with Re Re.

Andy Murray says he is going to quit swearing on the court.  That's like Roger Federer saying he is going to start being humble.

That's all folks!  Let us know about any other interesting stories you've heard around the web!

Andy Murray celebrates like it's 1999

What do you do to celebrate if you just won your first Major at the US Open?  Well, Andy Murray and 30 of his guests went to the trendy NY restaurant, Hakkasan and racked up a sizeable bill of $6448.00.

If you look at the tab closely, you'll see that the drinks contributed $1408.00 to the total bill, and out of all those fancy drinks including "Green Destinies" and "Zesty Martinis" (Judy was that you??), the only thing Andy drank was the $6.00 Lemon Soda!  I guess when you have to be up at the crack of dawn for your media blitz it's a good idea to stay sober, but you would have thought the Scot would have had at least one drink!

In 1999, Andy would have been 12, and I'm pretty sure that is the age I had my last lemon soda.   At least the rest of his party seemed to have a mighty good time....

Andy Murray wins the US Open in typical anticlimactic style

We have become used to a certain style of winning - Rafael Nadal skidding on his heels and then falling on his back, stretched in a full eagle, Novak Djokovic turning into The Hulk and ripping off his shirt and tossing all his clothes into the crowd, and then, of course, there are Roger Federer's tears.  But, leave it to the Brit Andy Murray to give us a new way to celebrate a win (his first) at a Major - grimacing and hobbling as he made his way to his box of supporters on 9 toenails, not to hug them or even smile at them, (although they were all hugging and smiling at each other), but rather just to ask them where he put his Rado watch, the one he forgot to wear in his Wimbledon final.  The security guard who was prepared to lift him into the arms of his loving family and friends even looked slightly confused.

All eyes on gold medal winner Andy Murray

by JAMES HENRY

CINCINNATI – All eyes were on Olympic champion Andy Murray as he began practicing at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.

But none were as fixated as those of his coach, eight-time Grand Slam singles winner Ivan Lendl.

“Great serve,” he said to his protégé, who defeated ATP World Tour No. 1 Roger Federer to claim the Olympic title.

As another ball zoomed through the court: “Great serve.”

“I can tell that one by the toss,” Lendl said.

“Yep,” he said matter-of-factly as another serve hit its mark.
