Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 11:49AM Tennis will be featured again at Madison Garden Square Garden on Feb 28th with the BNP Paribas Showdown, showcasing the epic rivalries between Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, and Ivan Lendl. The night, which is part of Tennis Night In America, is the kick off event for a month long celebration of tennis. Throughout March, the USTA will be holding various Youth Registration Events, which is their largest youth recruitment effort. I had the opportunity to talk with Jerry Solomon, CEO of StarGames LLC who is the organizer of The Showdown, about Tennis Night in America and the role of exhibition matches to increase the popularity of the sport.
Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 2:38PM This video was created to market the new Head YouTek 6 Star Racquet and in it, Andre Agassi takes a little dig at Roger Federer, demonstrating his accuracy without the need for special effects (unlike Roger's Gillette video). Of course who knows how many times it took to be able to hit that pole, but, he does it twice in a row for sure, and hitting the pole from in the stands is impressive either way. I sure do miss him.
