Quick Q & A With Marin Cilic

What is your passion outside of tennis?

I mean, it mostly depends on who I have company with, who is at the tournaments, but relax time - walking to different restaurants, walking a little bit around the city.  It depends where I am in the hotel, but right now I am in Miami, I am in downtown so there was a little bit of a music festival going on so I went last night to have a look at it and just to walk around just to take my mind off of tennis.

Do you follow any other sports?

Mostly soccer.  I follow that, and especially Champions League.  Of course when the national team is playing - the European Cup is approaching which they play in the summer which is also an interesting part of the year for soccer.

What is your favorite team?

I like to follow a lot Tottenham, they have a couple of Croatian players so I like to follow them and always want to see the Croatians do well.

What most annoys you?

When people are arrogant.

What are you most afraid of?

Some crazy animals! [Laughter]

Like?

I don’t like snakes, and things like that.

What is your favorite movie?

I’ve seen many of them, tough to pick one.  I like Lord of the Rings and Braveheart.

What is your favorite food?

Mediterranean.

What is your favorite city?

Apart from Croatia?  I like Melbourne and New York.

What is your favorite type of music?

Rock/Pop

Favorite Artist?

I don’t have one.  I like to follow most of them and I just like to put a radio station on and just listen to music, so nothing in particular.  I also like to listen to a little Eminem, but mostly rock/pop.

What is the last thing that you read?

I read a criminal story, it was pretty intense, but I forget the name.

What is your most embarrassing moment?

It happened not long ago, but I wouldn’t share it!

Do you have a celebrity crush?

No, not really.  It’s tough to when you don’t see them in life, it’s tough to pick somebody.

If there was a fire and you could only save one thing, what would you save?

My necklace from my city.

If you had one superpower, what would it be?

It wouldn’t be bad to run fast on the court.  [Laughter]
