Quick Q & A With Janko Tipsarevic

Janko Tipsarevic has had an exceptional 2011 - he won his first ATP title (he would go on to win two), he broke into the top 10 for the first time, and then he ended the year with a bang by defeating the number 1 player in the world, Novak Djokovic, at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

Janko was kind enough to take a little time out of his busy schedule to answer some of the questions from the OnTheGoTennis Quick Q & A.  The answers are VERY quick because we corresponded by email, but I hope all the Janko fans will still enjoy it!

You’ve had a phenomenal year, now that the season is coming to a close, what would you consider your favorite moment on the court this year?

I would say that the moment didn't happen on court...It was the moment when I realized that I will finish the season in the top 10.

Now that you are much more in the spotlight, what has been the biggest change for you personally and professionally?

Personally  there were no changes in my life.  Professionally, only the fact that I am aware that I have to work even harder in order to stay where I am or improve.

When did you start wearing sunglasses on the court?

When I was 15, no prescription back then.

In the future do you plan to use your Sports Management degree?

Of course, I would like to stay connected to this sport, on or off the court.  And the fact that I have a finished University in Sports Management is a huge plus.

What are your passions outside of tennis?

Music, snowboarding, World of Warcraft and more music.

What are you most afraid of?

Death.

Do you have any lucky charms that you take with you on the court?

I do not.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?

I love food to much.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

When people are stupid and arrogant at the same time.

Do you have any nicknames?

Tipsy, Jankela, Junkie.

What is your favorite movie?

Doni Brasco.

What is your favorite food?

Pljeskavica (Serbian dish).

What is your favorite city?

Apart from Belgrade, Miami.

What is your favorite sport outside of tennis?

Snowboarding.

What is the last thing that you read?

Newspaper this morning..;]

What is your most embarrassing moment?

There were many.

If there was a fire and you could only save one thing (not a person) what would you save?

Laptop (mainly cause of pictures).

If you had one superhero ability, what would it be?

To read people's minds.
