Quick Q & A With Alex Bogomolov, Jr.

Alex Bogomolov, Jr. was kind enough to answer some of my questions after his first round win at Newport:
Q. What your greatest moment on the court ever.
This year I played on the stadium court at the Nasdaq [now called the Sony Ericsson Open] where I grew up, where I practiced, and I beat Andy Murray there in front of Miami fans.
Q. Biggest Pet Peeve?
Getting charged more than 20 dollars to string a racquet at tournaments.
Q. How much does it cost here?
It’s 22 or 24 [dollars], I remember when I first started 10 years ago it was 10 dollars so over the years we’ve been seeing it and we don’t like the progress [Laughs].
Q. What is your greatest fear?
Greatest fear is something happening with my son.
Q. How old is your son?
19 months.
Q. Do you have any nicknames?
Bogie.
Q. Do you take any lucky charms with you on the tour?
Yes, on my tennis bag I have a small shoe, like a converse shoe as a reminder of my son and I have this [points to a bracelet] to remind me of my surgery on my left wrist, and that’s it.
Q. What is your biggest passion outside of tennis?
Raising my son.
Q. Guilty pleasure?
Sweets.
Q. What kind of sweets?
I like mentos on the plane, starburst and some twix or kit kats.
Q. What is your favorite type of movie?
Chick flicks.
Q. Really? I’m sure your fiance likes that.
Chick flicks are great.
Q. Favorite food?
Steak.
Q. Favorite city?
Amsterdam and Newport.
Q. Last thing you read?
I think it was Pete Sampras' book.
Q. Favorite type of music?
Hardcore [Pause] Ganster Rap [Laughs]
Q. Really?
Yes [More Laughter]
