Mary Fish has opened up about his anxiety disorder to USA Today. Fish, who has not played a competitive tennis match for a year, has been struggling with panic attacks and anxiety. He is no longer suffering from panic attacks every half an hour, but he is still on medication and is in therapy.
Fish's news comes as a shock to the tennis world. As tennis lovers, we are somewhat used to hearing about wrist and knee injuries, but an injury to the mind reminds us that tennis professionals are just human. I'm sure we all know at least one person who has stuggled with anxiety, and it's good that Fish is talking about something many people keep to themselves.
On The Go wishes Mardy Fish all the best in his recovery and we hope he finds happiness whether on the court or off it.
