"So take off all your clothes!"
We wish right? Wouldn't that be a sight - all the players in their birthday suits on the court. Well....now back to reality. Apologies for being a little behind on our roundups! The heat is affecting us too as Kait is at the Open as a fan and has no energy left for blogging after being in 107 - 108 degree temperatures for a couple of days. And to be honest, that has been the real story for the past 2 days...the HEAT!
Players were passing out on courts - Frank Dancevic was unconscious for about a minute after he hallucinated that he saw a cartoon character,
"I was dizzy from the middle of the first set and then I saw Snoopy and I thought, 'Wow Snoopy, that's weird.' "
Ball kids came close to fainting - Daniel Gimeno-Traver helped a ball kid to his chair.
And players are making fashion statements - Would you like an ice vest, an ice towel, or an ice hat to prevent your heat-stroke?
In other awesome news - Ross Hutchins is back on the court with Colin Flemming after missing last year battling leukemia, and they won!
Thrilled to be back out there today with @colin_fleming and get the Win, loved it!— Ross Hutchins (@RoscoHutchins) January 15, 2014
The Polish and Canadian fans are kinda awesome - After her win, Eugenie Bouchard was serenaded, and Jerzy Janowicz and his fans sure do know how to celebrate!
And the big seeds are still in it to win it - Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Federer, Sharapova, Azarenka, and Serena Williams have pretty much cruised in opening play.
See ya tomorrow!
