Athletic DNA Apparel Review

Athletic DNA were kind enough to send me some pretty awesome clothes for James and I to review. While I'm certainly no model, I felt it was only fair to take a few photos so you guys can see how these pieces fit on normal people, (as in not pro athletes). For the most part, I was very impressed with the cut and fit of Athletic DNA's gear.

Pullover Hoody: I'm wearing the pullover hoody in black/champaign but it comes in a few other colours. I have lived in this hoody ever since I received it. The lightweight fabric makes it perfect for Melbourne's winter, but it'd also be great to wear during summer when the nights turn cooler. The fit worked really well for me. It is tight around the arms but this is actually perfect for playing tennis as there is no annoying loose sleeves to get in the way. The fit around the torso is flattering and not clingy. I've been wearing for tennis, running and around the house. I imagine I'll wear it in summer too.

Envy Hot Short: I was initially a little scared when I saw these tiny, tight shorts... nobody wants butt cleavage or muffin top, (well, perhaps some fifteen year old festival goers favour the former). Thankfully, my fears were unfounded. These shorts ARE short, but they cover all the essential areas and they don't ride up during exercise. The thick band around the top of the shorts is very flattering and smoothed out any bumps. These could be worn as undershorts for those not too keen to wear them alone, but I'll be wearing them at the courts with a tee come summer. The come in blue/black and pink/purple as well.

Core Tee: This core tee, that comes in blue or black, is a very light, breezy sports t shirt. I found the fit very flattering and am sure I will wear it a lot during summer. The black version in particular could be paired with denim shorts for a cool sporty look when off the court. I cannot emphasise enough how light this tee shirt is - those living in hot climates will love it.

Rebel Racerback Tee: Unfortunately this pretty singlet didn't fit me too well as it was made for women with a bit more... erm... chest that I have. It fit really well around the waist and hips, I found the material really comfortable and loved the colour, but it just sat too loose around the chest. I gave it to my friend and she found the fit really good. This singlet is really cute, but if you're small up top like me, give it a miss. The yellow is a lot brighter than it appears in this photo.

Electric Performance Tee: This men's tee fits slightly loose, which many men find preferable. However, if you're looking for a tighter fit you might want to try go down a size. The fabric is very lightweight and will be comfortable on hot summer days, while the style is bound to get you noticed on the court. It comes in a variety of colours - the black/pink combo is my favourite.

Tournament short: These shorts sit loose and long, so they are ideal for those who don't like to expose any thigh! They're comfortable, cool shorts that are an essential staple in any sportsman's wardrobe.

To give you an idea of sizing, all my clothes were in a small and all James's were in medium.

You can shop online for any of these awesome pieces... the hoody I'm wearing is even on sale at the moment. We're also in the middle of organising an Athletic DNA giveaway so stay tuned!

Images: http://www.athleticdna.com/ and my own personal camera. Please do not take any of the photos of me or James without permission... that would be weird!
