Party with the Pros!!

The week before the US Open is by far the busiest lead-up of any slam for the top tennis players and Taste of Tennis has always been one of the largest events on the schedule. This year, it was expanded to a Taste of Tennis WEEK which ended with a bang on Saturday night with the “Party with the Pros.”

The evening featured tennis stars Victoria Azarenka, Sloane Stephens and John Isner in a setting where there was fancy food, handcrafted signature cocktails and music.  Like Taste of Tennis, fans could buy a ticket and get a chance to wine and dine with their favorite player and Measure Lounge in Langham Place was the perfect atmosphere for the event.

Serena Williams Wows At Delta Open Mic Event

Imagine being invited to the Delta Airways Open Mic Event with stars such as Orange Is The New Black’s Uzo Aduba and Laverne Cox, comedian Kathy Griffin30 Rock’s Katrina BowdenGlee’s Darren Criss, celebrity fitness trainer Shaun T and tennis star Jack Sock... and not being able to sing! I know how I'd cope with karaoke... get really drunk. But for athletes like Serena Williams, that's not an option. Thankfully, Serena can sing.

Serena strutted and danced as she sung Marilyn Monroe's "Diamonds Are A New Best Friend," despite saying she really liked classic '80s rock and roll in the pre-performance interview. Check it out!

Hot or Not: Djokovic's Ice Bucket Challenge

There's been so many ALS Ice Bucket Challenges this week it's been impossible to keep up with them all. We have had Bernard Tomic in his underwear and Grigor Dimitrov in the ocean, but the best attempt at a "sexy" ice bucket challenge has to go to Novak Djokovic. He really tried to spice things up with his hip swivelling moves... but did he succeed? Let us know what you think in the poll below!

Mardy Fish Reveals His Struggle With Anxiety

Mary Fish has opened up about his anxiety disorder to USA Today. Fish, who has not played a competitive tennis match for a year, has been struggling with panic attacks and anxiety. He is no longer suffering from panic attacks every half an hour, but he is still on medication and is in therapy.

Fish's news comes as a shock to the tennis world. As tennis lovers, we are somewhat used to hearing about wrist and knee injuries, but an injury to the mind reminds us that tennis professionals are just human. I'm sure we all know at least one person who has stuggled with anxiety, and it's good that Fish is talking about something many people keep to themselves.

On The Go wishes Mardy Fish all the best in his recovery and we hope he finds happiness whether on the court or off it.

Pat Rafter and Nick Kyrgios Star in Bonds Underwear Ad

I've seen worse advertisements than Bonds Underwear's latest, that's for sure! Nick Kyrgios is Bonds' latest signing, and he sought advice from modelling guru Pat Rafter in their latest advert. It's kind of cringe-worthy, kind of funny. And kind of awkward to be confronted with Nick's crotch for such a long time!! Not that I'm complaining...

Spain is Always on David Ferrer's Mind

by JAMES HENRY

CINCINNATI – David Ferrer has represented his country in the Davis Cup international team competition in 27 matches across 17 ties since 2006.

He won a whopping 23 of those rubbers, most notably defeating Juan Martín del Potro in front of a Spanish home crowd during the final against Argentina in 2011. It truly was an epic encounter, lasting 4 hours and 46 minutes.

The big-serving Argentine, the 2009 U.S. Open champion, found his form in the second set, grabbing it in a tie-breaker. Then, after losing his serve early in the third set, he won five games in a row.

But Ferrer would not give up. As the match continued, he got stronger, eventually earning the victory: 6-2, 6-7 (2), 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

With two additional wins by teammate Rafael Nadal, Spain claimed its fifth Davis Cup title, the third in four wildly successful years.

“You know, play for your country is different,” Ferrer told reporters after reaching his first semifinal at the Western & Southern Open, a prestigious Masters 1000 tournament, in Cincinnati.
